About Tenterden Singers

Come and join us

Do you enjoy singing?  We do - and we are always welcoming new members. If you can sing why not come along to one of our rehearsals and see if you would like to make music with us? All we ask for is your enthusiasm and commitment.

We are an informal, very friendly choir of around 30 people who enjoy singing and we will give you a warm welcome,

We perform a wide range of songs in four-part harmony (soprano, alto, tenor and bass) from madrigals to musicals. There are no auditions and you don’t have to be able to read the music as our Music Director Stephen Pusey helps us to learn and we help each other.

We try and perform 2 or 3 times a year in local churches and for local charitiees.

During the last twelve months we have sung at Biddenden Flair Festival of music and books, sung Christmas carols in Tenterden High Street and joined forces with St Mildred’s Choir for the Tenterden Town Carol Service.

The list below is a selection of some of the music we have sung recently.

Biddenden Flair October 2024

Jesu, the very thought of thee
The Seal Lullaby by Eric Whitacre (click link to see it sung by Voces 8 if you dont know it)
I gave my love an apple - a madrigal
Abraham, Martin, & John - a spiritual
Ten thousand miles - a sea shanty
Skyfall - a version for choir of the Adele classic

Christmas 2024

The Truth from Above
Past Three A Clock
In the bleak midwinter
Whence is that goodly fragrance
In the Stillness of the Night
Stille Nacht
Here we come a wassailing
Deck the Halls

Still, still, still
Ding Dong Merrily on High
